A Second Generation "Under Construction"

Last weekend, Mom gave me the "Under Construction" t-shirt she used to announce my impending arrival. She modified it slightly before giving it to me. She's always wanted it to have an arrow pointing down, so she embroidered one on it using blue floss surrounded by a pink whipstitch. It mostly looks white, but you can see the colors if you get up close.

I wore the shirt to work today to tell my coworkers. I was trying to make sure I faced people full front while talking to them. At first people didn't notice, and so I started asking them if they liked my shirt. It was fun to watch them figure it out. Then, later on, some people started reading it on their own and figuring it out. I was the recipient of a lot of hugs. By mid-afternoon, most people here had seen the shirt or overheard. It was a very fun day.

I waited until Thursday to wear it because one of my coworkers, Christin, is pregnant and due in May (she's about to go on maternity leave) and I wanted her to see the shirt. She only works Mondays and Thursdays, so I wore the shirt on a day I knew she would be there. We talked a lot about babies and pregnancy, and she was excited to finally know someone she could pass baby things on to.
