Happy First Birthday Liam!!!!!

Here are the pictures from Liam's Birthday--both the actual day and his party!

Liam started his day with special pancakes--which he likes loves now.

Then we went to a playground

Peek-a-boo!

.

We swung Liam between us for the first time on his birthday, and got a picture of it by giving my new camera to Robin for the first time.  (Don't mind the overlapping fingertip, he's not used to the flat lens of this camera.)

Robin helped me bake the cake while Liam napped

One little candle

Cake is yummy!

Frosting face!

Time for gifts!

Big brother showing him how it works

That was it for his actual birthday.  A day filled with fun, just the four of us.

And then...

...just over a week later...

...came the LUAU!

We had FOOD

We had FRIENDS

We had FUN

.

We had half-naked children running through the sprinklers

We had adults running through the sprinklers

We had CAKE

Oh, so yummy cake!

Fun Stuff

We brought the exersaucer upstairs just to get it out of the way for my birthday party, and it has seen new life.  First off, Robin has climbed into it a few times

And now Liam has figured out how to climb into--and out--of it by himself, too.  Liam plays with it a lot now

There was a solar eclipse on May 20th, and my parents were good enough to pick up some eclipse glasses for us.

Yes, we know they look like 3D glasses.  They're still cool.
The world was dark while wearing these.  All you cold see was the sun.  Everything else was black.
I even managed to get some good photos

Some darn good ones, when you consider that I was just aiming my point-and-shoot camera though the $2 glasses.

We went to a nearby park with a picnic dinner to watch the eclipse, and then played after the sun set

Liam still likes to bounce

Dean's mother just retired from teaching, and Dan thought it would be nice to pick her up on her last day in a limo.

So we did

On our way to the school

Surprise!

After picking her up we rode around for the rest of the hour, and then the limo let us off at the Olive Garden for a nice late lunch/early dinner

I think this made her happy

Letting Robin take pictures always turns back some interesting results.  And a LOT of throwaways.  I'd never let him do this if we were still using film.

We dressed up (as best we could, anyway) for a cowgirl themed birthday party for one of Robin's friends.  Liam even sported his cowboy boots (although we couldn't keep them on his feet for more than a minute.)
