Summer Fun, part 9

There was a Lego exhibit at the Longmont museum, so we went up to visit my parents and to take a visit

This mosaic of the first Superman comic book is made entirely of legos.

See?

There were some neat designs on display

But the best part was the big, interactive building room!

Duplos for the littler kids
The cars that Robin and I raced

 Ready, set, go!

 Dean built a giant robot

And a smaller one for Liam

I made a bridge to span a gap in the lego ramps

After the Lego exhibit, we went to may parents house to.....

Dun, duh duh DAAAAAHH!!!.........

Start building Liam's racecar bed!

(I'll write a whole post devoted to this once it's finished.)

Digging in the dirt and talking to Ama and Poppa's neighbor kids.  With the lollipop sticks hanging out of their mouths, they look like they're smoking.  Oops.

Summer Fun, part 8

Watching the choo choo train at a nearby park

 Wading in the creek

It's a good thing we took their shirts off, because they both wound up sitting down and would've gotten them wet

Whee!

Our library had a "Farm Friends Storytime" at the local petting zoo, so we decided to attend

Looking at the animals after storytime

Hi goats

Liam was a bit intimidated by everything, and didn't really want to touch/pet

Trying to milk the out-of-order cow

Big group of friends together

Gathering to, again, watch the train

Who needs toys when you can run around in the grass and jump off a wall?

Robin decided to dress like Dada, wearing an open button-down Hawaiian shirt over a t-shirt.  We thought this was cute

My first carrot harvest of the season!

We had a playgroup back at the same park a few days later, and decided to go ahead and ride the train this time

They're shirtless because they're wearing swim trunks, because they'd been wading in the creek
Summer is nearing its end!  Not too many more installments of summer fun! :(
